Rigby & Rigby Unveil New Private Beach Pavilion Project in Koh Samui

Rigby & Rigby are pleased to announce a new private beach pavilion project on the shores of Koh Samui, Thailand—an exclusive beachfront destination conceived as a refined retreat that celebrates tropical living, privacy, and sensitivity to nature.
Set against sweeping views towards Koh Mat Sum, the pavilion is designed as an elegant architectural gesture within the surrounding nature, offering a calm yet vibrant sanctuary where architecture, landscape, and lifestyle meet. The project blends crisp architectural elegance with a carefully curated selection of amenities, creating an environment equally suited to quiet reflection and active island living.

At the heart of the design is a strong emphasis on outdoor living. A protective canopy provides essential solar shading while encouraging year-round use of open-air spaces and pool area—an intentional response to Koh Samui’s climate. Large panoramic windows dissolve the boundary between inside and out, allowing uninterrupted views across the sea and ensuring that the rhythm of daily life remains closely connected to the surrounding landscape.

The pavilion features a sunset-facing infinity pool, alongside direct access to a range of water-based activities including jet skiing, kayaking, and paddleboarding across the island’s clear lagoon waters. On land, guests will enjoy a tennis court and a small pitch-and-putt course, supporting an active lifestyle.
Food and entertaining form a central part of the experience. An alfresco BBQ terrace sits adjacent to a lush kitchen garden, planted with herbs and local flora to supply fresh ingredients directly to the table. This garden-led approach reflects both sustainability principles and a deep respect for local context, allowing the natural character of Koh Samui to shape daily rituals within the pavilion.

Rigby & Rigby have undertaken several site visits to Koh Samui over the past year, with the team immersing themselves in the local environment to better understand the climate, culture, and landscape. This on-the-ground research has informed both the architectural strategy and the material palette, ensuring the design feels appropriate, responsive, and authentic to its setting.
The project is currently progressing through the local authority planning submission, with detailed design well underway. The team anticipates to tender in the second quarter of 2026.

Designed as a private retreat for moments of escape and connection, the Koh Samui Beach Pavilion reflects Rigby & Rigby’s commitment to thoughtful design, meticulous detail, and creating spaces that feel both timeless and deeply personal.
