Rigby & Rigby develop bespoke furniture for private family office in Oslo Norway - OSL 195

The Rigby & Rigby Interior Design Studio are pleased to share some exciting progress for our Private Family office project in Oslo, Norway.

The studio was commissioned for the interior design and we have proposed a series of tailored pieces of furniture and artwork. These special items include a layer of curated personal touches all generated from our project research and methodology. In collaboration with the private family office and client we have brought in specific elements that point to the foundation and development of the company and we have created one-of-a-kind pieces that will become future family heirlooms.

We have designed two bespoke solid marble coffee tables to sit within break out spaces of the office. The tables feature three carved grooves to the back of the base. This symbol picks up on the design of the company logo so these pieces are unique to the client.

This side table is a statement sculptural piece located in the main boardroom. The triangulated shape and handcrafted legs are inspired by the building architecture and the final shape is adjusted to fit perfectly within the room. Note the discreet & considered hole at the top of one of the legs – this is for a table lamp cable. Our bespoke ‘drum’ coffee table has been carefully crafted and finished in a custom ‘Rigby & Rigby Gold’ liquid metal – the patinated transition from dark to light is inspired by the client and how their company has evolved and prospered.

The design team have incorporated abstracted references to the family’s brand and emblems to allude to the values throughout the design of the project as well as in the customised furniture pieces. This can be seen most notably in the carved triple stripe detail running down the spine of two hand carved solid marble side tables. Similarly, this idea is repeated in the frame of the handmade kitchen barstools. The three-legged design features a three-pronged back leg which echoes the company DNA and branding. As with all Rigby & Rigby projects, the custom detailing has been executed with precision and understated luxury.

This timber side table has been exclusively designed with our in house 3d team. The base is constructed from three solid walnut blocks to provide a striking natural pattern within the veining.

This close up image shows the detail of the top of another custom designed side table. A hand blown glass sheet is sandwiched between metal plates to create a dynamic effect.

As part of our research and development into the design, we have collaborated with a liquid metal and furniture design specialist to develop an elegant custom shade of champagne gold, exclusively for use on this project and now formally branded ‘Rigby Gold’. This metal is the base material of a coffee table, two side tables, the reception desk and a bespoke chandelier. Attention to detail such as this ensures the client has a truly unique final product.

This bench is hand carved from a solid piece of oak. There are slight cracks within the wood where it has dried over years and this adds a true organic feel to the piece. The bench is to be located within a shower room so has been stained and sealed it protect it from any moisture.Learn more about the project here
