Project Haze featured on Superyacht Times
Rigby & Rigby's Project Haze has been featured on the Superyacht Times website in an article exploring the superyacht. The article reads:In August 2020, Extra Yachtslaunched its second Extra 86, Haze, in Ancona where the yard has since been preparing the yacht for handover to her owner. In anticipation of the occasion, Extra Yachts has opened the doors of this innovative open-plan cruiser for a first look at its multi-purpose guest spaces and family-friendly layout.
The Daytona-Grey Haze takes on a sporty and modern look thanks to its contemporary two-tone paint finish that resembles a performance GT cruiser with its high-gloss black accents and swooping curves. The sleek Francesco Guida exterior gives the yacht a dynamic stance, even when Haze is anchored in a quiet bay. With two distinct exterior decks, outdoor guest areas are split between a spacious 25 sqm sundeck setting at the top of the boat, a functional forward-facing settee on the foredeck and a grand open-plan entertainment area on the main deck aft. Here, guests can dine al fresco in the cockpit area or enjoy their favourite Hollywood films thanks to a cosy outdoor cinema setup.
The chic apartment-feel of the outdoor spaces is a continuation of the Lawson Robb interior design which was used as a starting point for the project’s development. The unobstructed views through Haze’s glass deckhouse provided inspiration for the interior arrangement and use of low-profile, minimalist furniture. In the main saloon, a built-in C-shaped lounge shares a kaleidoscope view with the eight-seater main dining area under the yacht’s solar panel glass deckheads which together generates up to 5kW of Haze’s utility and lighting power.
Below deck, four guest cabins can welcome up to eight overnight guests in a full-beam master suite, a VIP stateroom and two double cabins, each complete with its own en-suite bathroom.
Haze comes equipped with Volvo Penta’s latest IPS 1350 engines and joystick drive system for unrivalled manoeuvrability, cruising comfort and efficiency. In planing mode, the yacht reaches 21 knots and can cruise at 12 knots in semi-displacement mode to cover a guaranteed 1,200 nm.
