Our interior design team returned to Prague in October 2025 to visit another of our trusted glass specialists, Preciosa - a key collaborator on several of our ongoing projects.

Preciosa is rooted in the heart of the Crystal Valley in the Czech Republic, with a legacy that spans centuries. During our visit, we experienced first-hand how Preciosa artfully balances tradition and innovation. From its historic production facilities to its sleek, contemporary offices and showrooms, the brand embodies a seamless fusion of past, present and future. The Art of Crystal Lighting

During our visit to Preciosa, we gained valuable insights into how the precise specification of crystal elements can dramatically influence the overall look and feel of a chandelier.

Crystal Transparency

In the showroom, we explored how varying the transparency of crystal components can create distinct moods and visual effects. Subtle changes in clarity can alter the way light interacts with the piece, bringing a sense of movement or softness to the design.

Light Source Positioning

We also observed how the placement of light sources - whether above, below, or within the fixture - can completely transform the lighting effect. Each variation highlights different facets of the crystal, resulting in unique atmospheres.

Custom Colour Options

Preciosa offers a vast palette of custom colours, allowing designers to tailor lighting pieces to perfectly complement their spaces. One standout moment was viewing their colour ombré display, where delicate transitions in hue added depth and dimension to the lighting installations.

As interior designers, we deeply appreciated the craftsmanship and flexibility on display. The experience not only inspired us creatively but also reinforced the importance of detail when specifying custom lighting solutions.

In Summary

During our visit, we had the opportunity to review full-scale mock-ups of bespoke chandeliers we’ve designed for one of our international projects.
