Rigby & Rigby Achieves Excellence Throughout Five-Year Considerate Constructors Scheme Project

Rigby & Rigby is proud to celebrate the successful completion of a five-year project, from 2018 to 2023, under the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS). From the very first year, we were awarded a Certificate of Excellence, a standard we proudly maintained throughout the entire project. This recognition reflects our unwavering commitment to exceptional standards in site presentation, safety, and sustainability, setting new benchmarks within the scheme.

Beginning in 2018, our goal was to uphold the highest standards expected by the CCS. Over the course of the project, we implemented an exemplary site management strategy, ensuring both the site and surrounding areas were consistently clean, tidy, and professionally presented. Our adoption of the Scheme’s First Impressions Standards contributed to creating a welcoming environment. We also enhanced site security with the installation of a comprehensive CCTV system.

A key factor in our success was the strong relationships we developed with local residents. Regular communication with the community, including updates through the residents' association and sharing work-in-progress photographs, fostered transparency and trust. These efforts were complemented by numerous goodwill gestures that strengthened our ties to the community.

Rigby & Rigby has been a proud advocate of the CCS values throughout the project. Key information about the Scheme was displayed prominently on-site, and our community noticeboard, updated regularly, ensured local stakeholders were kept well-informed about project milestones and activities.

Innovation was a core principle of this development. We are one of the first residential projects in the UK to be registered for the WELL Building initiative, prioritizing well-being for both workers and residents. While not part of the CCS scheme, our commitment to the WELL Building Standard ethos filtered into creating a healthy work environment. We promoted a healthy lifestyle by encouraging walking or cycling to work, offering fresh fruit and water and healthy lifestyle advice to support better nutrition, and fostering a positive, health-conscious workplace. Environmental sustainability was also central to our design, with features such as a ground source heat pump and a green wall included in the project. We closely monitored our carbon footprint and actively promoted environmental awareness among the workforce.

Safety remained our top priority, particularly during theCOVID-19 pandemic. Rigby & Rigby adhered to stringent safety measures to protect both the workforce and the public, and operated in full compliance with the CLOCS (Construction Logistics and Community Safety) standards. Regular safety briefings, toolbox talks, and inspections ensured a safe working environment, resulting in a project free from major incidents.

Our commitment to workforce well-being was further demonstrated through our exceptional welfare facilities and a comprehensive range of occupational health resources. These efforts ensured our team remained safe, supported, and productive over the entire five-year period.
