Introducing Charlie Kentish Architect: Team Global

Charlie Kentish, Architect and Global Team Lead at Rigby & Rigby Architecture, has quickly proven himself to be transformative within the firm. Since joining Rigby & Rigby over 12 months ago, Charlie has brought a unique combination of creativity, expertise, and leadership to the team. His strong design ethos and proven ability to manage and coordinate international design teams have made him an invaluable asset to our Architecture Studio. Under his leadership, the Global team is responsible for delivering some of the world’s most exceptional and innovative architectural projects, spanning countries such as Thailand, Japan, and Oslo.

At Rigby & Rigby, Charlie leads one of the firm's three key teams, alongside the Country team led by David Ellis and Urban team led by Paul Jones.

The Global team under Charlie’s direction has focused on high-profile, international projects that require a deep understanding of both local and global design trends. Charlie’s ability to bridge the gap between these different perspectives has allowed the team to produce work that is not only beautiful, functional and innovative but also deeply connected to its cultural context. His leadership ensures that every project is executed with precision and a deep respect for the diverse environments in which they are situated.

Before joining Rigby & Rigby, Charlie had already built an impressive portfolio of work in some of the world’s most respected architectural firms such as SNØHETTA and Heatherwick Studio.

His time at SNØHETTA in Oslo, where he worked as a Senior Architect, was a pivotal stage in his career. During his tenure, Charlie worked on a range of large-scale projects, including a major development in the Middle East that included a palace, a new majlis, and an event space. These complex projects required a sophisticated understanding of cultural nuances, architectural innovation, and sustainable design practices. Charlie's role in these projects allowed him to showcase his ability to balance contemporary design with traditional elements, creating spaces that were both functional and deeply symbolic.

Charlie’s experience at SNØHETTA was followed by a significant period at Heatherwick Studio, where he worked for seven years on some of the most iconic projects across the globe. One of his most notable contributions was his work on large-scale developments in Singapore, where he helped deliver substantial projects. These projects required not only an in-depth understanding of design but also the ability to manage large, multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless project execution. Charlie's success in these high-pressure environments speaks to his exceptional ability to lead complex design endeavours, always with a keen eye on detail and innovation.

Through his work, Charlie Kentish has proven himself to be a visionary leader and a master of international collaboration. His ability to lead and inspire the Global team at Rigby & Rigby has positioned the firm to continue delivering groundbreaking projects that redefine architecture on the world stage.
