High Performance, High Design - Reflections from the British Grand Prix

This summer, the Rigby & Rigby team had the opportunity to attend the 2025 Formula 1 British Grand Prix at Silverstone. We participated not just as spectators of one of the world’s premier sporting events, but as a design studio deeply engaged with the intersection of performance, innovation, and luxury.

Formula 1 stands as the pinnacle of engineering precision, visual identity, and brand experience. In this sport, every detail—from the roar of the engines to the design of the grandstands—contributes to a meticulously curated atmosphere. For our team, which specializes in high-end interior architecture, the Grand Prix offered more than just a spectacle; it was an insightful study of how world-class design thinking translates across various disciplines.

A Shared Moment of Velocity and Vision

From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was electric. The intensity of race day, the choreography of every movement on and off the track, and the energy pulsing through the crowds combined to create an environment filled with focus and innovation. This was more than a sporting event; it was a showcase of performance, engineering, and emotion at the highest level.

For us, the experience was as much about connection as it was about spectacle. Coming together as a team in a high-performance setting provided an opportunity for shared reflection, spontaneous conversation, and renewed inspiration. Removed from our daily routines and immersed in an environment driven by clarity and speed, we reconnected with the core values that define our work: collaboration, ambition, and purposeful creativity.

The event highlighted that, even in a completely different discipline, the fundamental principles of great design remain consistent. In Formula 1, everything is purpose-built—designed not just for aesthetics, but because each component serves a specific function. This balance between form and function is central to our approach as a multidisciplinary studio specializing in interior and architectural design. Across all our divisions, we ensure a seamless connection between design and execution, from spatial planning that flows effortlessly to material selections that combine tactile richness with durable performance.

What impressed us most was the relentless attention to detail. Whether it was the design of the cars, the layout of the track, or the hospitality experience surrounding the event, every touchpoint was intentional and thoughtfully considered. This reminded us that true luxury is layered; what sets a space apart is often not a singular statement but rather the accumulation of quiet, deliberate choices made with care.

The Grand Prix also reinforced the power of immersive storytelling. Formula 1 is not just about speed; it’s about how speed is experienced. Through the harmony of sound, motion, branding, light, and anticipation, the experience becomes unforgettable. We were reminded that truly exceptional environments transcend the visual; they engage the senses, evoke emotions, and leave lasting impressions.

As we returned to the studio, we did so with renewed momentum. The Grand Prix provided not only a memorable day of team building but also a compelling parallel to our world of design. Like Formula 1, our work is driven by craftsmanship, discipline, and the pursuit of excellence—a commitment to precision, beauty, and the seamless integration of innovation with lifestyle.

From the track to the drawing board, the lessons from the day resonate with us: to think clearly, to build purposefully, and to always move forward—faster, sharper, and more inspired.
