Rigby & Rigby have been appointed to complete the architectural and interior design for the restoration of a Victorian townhouse situated minutes from Kensington Palace. The brief described a ‘house for all moods’ that must serve a young family, support a new business venture, and indulge our client’s love of entertaining family and friends.
The traditional red brick façade that is a signature design feature of the area will give way to an open and airy interior that encapsulates the luxury that can be found in contemporary living. The upper floors exude sophistication whilst downstairs a surprise awaits. Here, the property will boast its very own entertainment suite with a bar and media room bringing the excitement of a night out on the town into the home. The refurbished house will be a place for enjoyment with friends and family from elegant dinner parties to cosy movie nights in.
Throughout the property the design takes precedent from the emotions that we seek to evoke within the space: joy, serenity, and surprise, with personal touches found in each room that nod to our client’s heritage. The recent pandemic has taught us that a home must feel familiar yet retain the ability to excite. The variety found within the spaces of this property offer a place for all aspects of living, both day and night.
